Need fly ash to improve the properties of your concrete mix, mortar, or grout? We stock 20kg bags of fly ash by Cement Australia. This product conforms to AS3582.1.
Fly ash is not a cement, but is used as a supplementary cementitious material that improves the workability and durability of concrete. Specific benefits include:
– Lower water demands
– Better control of bleeding
– Lower heat of hydration
– Better long-term strength
– Reduced corrosion of reinforcing steel
– Less permeability for improved resistance to chemicals
As an added benefit, fly ash is a by-product of coal combustion in power stations — so by using it in your building processes, you’re helping the environment by reusing industry waste.
Fly ash is generally used as a cement replacement in concrete (around 20-30%) and can be used in nearly all concrete projects.
