Sugar Cane Mulch Bales

Sugar cane mulch is particularly ideal for vegetable gardens or annual flower beds, helping with:

Before mulching, prepare your area by removing weeds, applying suitable fertiliser, and then watering it in.

Sugar cane mulch bales are compressed and tied with string, making them easy to transport. When you’re ready to use your mulch, simply cut the string loose and spread the mulch around.

The recommended depth of sugar cane mulch is around 40-100mm for your first mulching, ensuring space around plants so that stems don’t touch the mulch. Or top up existing mulch with a 20-40mm layer of fresh mulch.

Sugar cane mulch is also ideal for adding cosiness to laying boxes, chook houses, and chook pens — and will help to absorb moisture and reduce mud. And after it breaks down, you can use the combined mulch and chook manure to add goodness to your veggie gardens, then simply top up your chicken enclosure with fresh sugar cane mulch.
